In just over a week’s time on Friday 10 May, the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue will perform in front of its fans on the stage of Sapņu fabrika. Since the start of 2013, the band has embarked on a concert tour of European cities. Just recently, the Finnish musicians have performed in various Russian cities and in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev.

This will be the band’s second visit to Latvia; back in the summer of 2008 it was one of the guests at the Baltic Beach Party summer festival.

Sunrise Avenue will perform in Riga as part of its “OUT OF STYLE TOUR 2013” concert show tour, including songs from their latest (fourth) album “Out Of Style”. The title song of the aforementioned album “Hollywood Hills” characterises the essence of the group – playing ultra melodic music that demolishes the borders between various countries, as well as reaching the German TOP 3. The album “Out of Style” was produced in collaboration with the band’s long-standing partner Jukka Backlund and a new producer Jukka Immonen.

The warm-up act for the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue’s Riga concert will be the Latvian band Double Faced Eels.

Reviewing the feedback from Sunrise Avenue’s Russian fans and media representatives, it’s clear that the band’s concerts have been very successful. The guys have delighted their fans by giving energetic, captivating and professional concerts. It’s interesting that during the Russian concerts, fans organised various flash actions like flying paper airplanes or holding placards with the message ‘Kiitos’ (translated from Finnish – thanks). In a show of their love for the group, fans at the Moscow concert showered the stage with roses and waved Finnish flags.

Tickets to the Sunrise Avenue concert can still be bought at all “Biļešu serviss” ticket outlets and from the Internet site: www.bilesuserviss.lv. Ticket prices: starting from Ls 20. Concert audience members will be admitted to Sapņu fabrika from 19:00, the warm-up band will go on stage at 19:45, followed by the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue at 21:00.

Speaking about the opportunity to perform together with Sunrise Avenue, one of the DFE’s member Marka says: “We are delighted about this offer, because it will not just be a chance to perform together with the Finnish musicians on one stage, but also to return to Sapņu fabrika. We haven’t had the chance to meet the guys from Sunrise Avenue in person, but we know the songs which are regularly played on Latvian radio stations like “Hollywood Hills” and “Welcome to my life”. We’ll offer the concert audience songs which are included in our club tour programme: “Bathroom Tour”, which we’re currently performing across Latvia. The set design will be interesting and we’ve been joined by a fifth band member: a computer.”

During the last five years, Sunrise Avenue has received several domestic and international awards, ranging from gold and platinum certificates for its albums/songs, right through to the Finnish Grammy award, as well as undertaking sold out concerts and tours.

The band eventually found fame 12 years after it was formed when, after long negotiations and countless meetings, it managed to sign a deal with a small Scandinavian recording company, Bonnier. Sunrise Avenue attained popularity with its songs “Fairytale Gone Bad” and “Forever Yours” which were included in the studio album “On the Way to Wonderland” which was released in 2006. The album was hugely popular in the charts not just in Finland, but also in Greece, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

We would like to remind you that with the exception of accredited media representatives, cameras cannot be brought into the concert venue. We hope that viewers and the band’s fans will respect this.
